Burkhard Tolks from Siemens Management Consulting is coaching people at Siemens and at other companies to build organizations that better respond to the unique opportunities and challenges of the digital age. He supports leaders and key people in development and in the service functions to adopt new ways of working which foster business agility, customer centricity, innovation, and employee engagement.
Burkhard has a long career in product development with various large and medium sized companies and in different business areas. He had started as a developer and project manager. He and his teams contributed to some products that are taken for granted today like e-Cars, Android smartphones and wideband internet infrastructure. He increasingly used lean-agile approaches. Burkhard has been working as a coach for 8 years and has supported a number of business units in his role.
After Burkhard had benefitted from the work of the lean-agile community and its thoughtleaders like Mary Poppendieck and Mike Cohn in the early years, he now tries to give something back. In different communities he supports the sharing and further development of our body of knowledge. Examples are the DACH30 network of Agile transition experts from the largest companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as development of training curriculums at ICAgile.
